National Wine and Cheese Day Top 6 Organic Wine & Cheese Pairings
In honor of National Wine and Cheese Day we’ve come up with Top 6 organic wine & cheese pairings! Start off with the refreshing bubbles of Italian Pizzolato Fields Prosecco, pairing perfectly with a delicious creamy Camembert. The full-flavored nutty and sweat Gouda cheese pairs well with biokult Grüner Veltliner. This dry white from Austria has beautiful notes of pear and citrus, followed by a hint of white pepper on the finish. If you’re in the mood for the classic Italian pairing, try Pizzolato Pinot Grigio with the extra creamy Mozzarella di Bufala. The wine’s floral aromas of white spring flowers along with creamy green apple and citrus notes on the palate work magic with this tangy cheese.
The classic Spanish Manchego pairs best with Spain’s famous grape, Tempranillo. Tarantas Tempranillo Crianza from the Utiel-Requena region near Valencia, is aged at least 6 months in oak and provides just the right level of spice and body to hold its own with this bold cheese. The French love a good Bordeaux with their blue cheese! Try a good French blue cheese paired with a classic Right Bank Les Hauts de Lagarde Bordeaux Rouge, with it’s Merlot dominant blend that shows good fruit, raspberry and strawberry summery flavors. Save room for a bit of sweetness at the end of your pairing extravaganza with a pairing of Tarantas Sparkling Rosé and delicate soft goat cheese. This slightly sweet sparkler is made from 100% Spanish Bobal, which creates a mouthful of delicate strawberry and red currant deliciousness.
