The 2022 Koyle Sauvignon Blanc was produced with grapes from two vineyards, 9 and 20 kilometers away from the sea with granite and limestone soils, and both with influence from the sea and minerals from these old coastal soils. The fresh wine was fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and was kept with lees for 4 months. This wine reveals pungent herbal aromas, a sharp palate and vibrant flavors, with effervescent acidity and a bone dry finish, almost salty. -- Reviewed by Luis Gutierrez
Robert Parker Wine Advocate (2022 vintage)Fresh and crisp with aromas of lime zest, white grapefruit, nettles and passion fruit. Salted lemons and seashells, too. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and a refreshing, saline palate. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. Screw cap.
James Suckling (2021 vintage)The 2021 Koyle Costa La Flor Sauvignon Blanc is fragrant, alluring, and delicate. This wine offers aromas and flavors of dried herbs, rustic spices, and aromatic floral notes. Enjoy it with noodles and clams in a light garlic broth. (Tasted: July 5, 2022, San Francisco, CA)
Wilfred Wong of Wine.com. (2021 vintage)The 2020 vintage is a pale steely yellow with aromas of lime, rue (herbal orange), grapefruit and gunpowder. Featuring good fat in the mouth and heightened freshness, it ends with a lime-infused finish. A profound flavorful white with a tropical kick. Very competitive at the price.
VinousA fruity white with passion fruit, lime cordial and melon on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with crisp acidity and plenty of tropical-fruit and cordial notes.
James Suckling (2020 Vintage)Starts with tangy freshness. Flavors of lemon peel, white peach & powdered ginger. Well balanced, with mineral acidity.
Viña KoyleFloral aromas with notes of freesia, fresh pineapple, guava, white peaches, and green strawberries giving way to white grapefruit, honeysuckle crème brûlée, beachy grasses, and a sea breeze salinity on the palate. La Flor has defined and elevated acidity and a clean mouthfeel that leaves you wanting for more.
NM - Enjoy with:
Lobster and drawn butter, crab cakes with remoulade, egg and gruyere souffle, and poached fish sauced with lemon. The wine stands up to salty cheeses like pecorino romano and manchego.
