Organic Turbiana
Turbiana is an autochthonous white grape variety, born in Lugana region territory in the south of Lake Garda. Pratello vineyards are located in the morainic hilds of this lake, providing very favorable conditions to a perfect ripeness of the grapes.
Turbiana was cloned from Trebbiano variety, which is called Ugni Blanc in France. Grape’s main visual characteristics are:
• big fruits
• and beautiful golden color, when it is ripe.
Aromas of almonds, green apples and peaches are very characteristic to the wines made with this grape. Pratello vineyards with clay soil give some high levels of minerality and a hint of a salty taste to these wines. All these characteristics turns out to well-structured and balanced acidity wines. Windy and sunny climate of this area helps to obtain a very aromatic whites.
The grapes are harvested manually in the last week of September or first week of October. Early harvest provides higher acidity wines and late harvest sweeter wines.
One of the reasons of why this variety was chosen to elaborate Pratello wines is its longevity. It was proven that wines made with Trebbiano grapes last longer and have a very good aging potential.
