Organic Riesling Italico
Riesling Italico is a white grape variety and it is grown throughout Central Europe. It is not related with Rhine Riesling and in Germany it is called Welschriesling (trad.: Romanic Riesling) and it is very typical to Valtenesi Region.
The grapes are of medium/small size with the thin skin. This variety gives minerality and good level of acidity to the wine and the color tend to have green reflections. The result is an elegant and very aromatic, very fruit forward wine with a hint of sweet mineral, which rises to the nose nicely.
The soil at this Pratello vineyard is calcareous, very loose and stony and is located at Valtenesi Region area in the morainic hills in the west coast of Lake Garda.
The altitude is 250 m. above sea level. The vineyards enjoy an ideal exposure and a constant breeze that provides good ventilation and allows for perfect ripeness of Riesling Italico grapes.
The grapes are harvested manually in the middle of September.
