Just in time for Non-GMO Month, Spanish organic wine Granza Tinta de Toro recently became our newest Non-GMO Project Verified Wine. Located in the Castilla y Leon area of Spain, Toro is on the Duero River, 40 miles east of the Portuguese border. The Toro region produces robust and bold wines from the Tinta de Toro grape, that are both rich in flavor and aroma. The wilder side of Tempranillo, Tinta de Toro is a smaller, more dense grape with thicker skins. The resulting wine is complex with an intense dark cardinal purple color. Black fruit aromas lead to an intense, elegant and balanced wine with a long harmonious finish.

GOLD Medal & Exceptional
With the addition of Granza Tinta de Toro, we now have 42 Non-GMO Project Verified wines in our portfolio. Non-GMO Project Verified status indicates that the brands adhere to consensus-based best practices for avoidance of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), which are organisms whose natural genetic material has been altered through engineering techniques. The verification is granted by the Non-GMO Project, a not-for-profit organization committed to preserving and building sources of non-GMO products, educating consumers, and providing verified non-GMO choices.
