The Wines From Spain team recently hosted a culinary school event at Robert Morris University located in Chicago, Illinois, featuring Granza Verdejo. The educational event was a huge success with the Best of Spain Series seminar attended by 48 students at Robert Morris University. The program aims to promote Spanish wine among young and future US chefs and sommeliers. Participants tasted a flight of diverse and iconic wines from throughout the country, including Spanish organic wine Granza Verdejo from the Rueda D.O., produced by Bodega Matarromera.
Organic Spanish wine among young and future US chefs and sommeliers
The class was led by renowned Chicago wine expert and wine journalist, Mary Ross. Mary was an excellent spokesperson for Spanish wine and delivered a truly engaging presentation on the subject. Mary Ross is an internationally-recognized wine and food professional, educator and journalist. She is the first American woman to receive the Wine Spectator’s “Grand Award of Excellence” and the second American woman to receive the Court of Master Sommelier’s “Advanced Sommelier” degree.
