- Tasting Notes:
Inkarri hails from the older part of Paraje Altamira, but the vineyard was planted as recentlyTim Atkin
as 2011. Aged in larger wooden foudres and cement tanks, it has 15% whole bunches for extra spice and life, but no new wood influence at all. Savoury, elegant and refined, this is typical of the new style of the winery, with filigree tannins and racy, vibrant fruit flavours.
The juicy, aromatic and fruit-driven 2018 Inkarri Winemaker’s Selection Malbec felt like pure grape juice, with unnoticeable oak after ten months in 3,000- and 5,000-liter oak vats. It's floral, soft and approachable, clean and pure, not terribly complex but very pleasant. 20,000 bottles were filled in April 2018.The Wine Advocate
Violets, blackberries and a hint of herbs make this a very expressive and fresh malbec. Powerful with a crisp finish. Drink or hold.James Suckling
Inky dark purple colour. Pure and intense floral nose of violet, ripe blackberry, sweet plum and cassis with mild spices. Ample, ripe and warm palate, yet with a good freshness underneath, grainy tannin and a long lingering finish with floral and dark fruity notes.Andreas Larsson, MW - Winner: World's Best Sommelier
