Production Area: A mild climate (due to the Atlantic Ocean). Lots of sunshine, and regular rain, the hillside situation and the clay limestone soil, gravels offer the best conditions for the growth of the vines and the grapes. Côtes de Bordeaux is a small and ancient appellation known for it’s production of sweet wine, we are only 3 producers in the area to produce a dry wine.
Hectares of production: 38 hectares
Yield per Vine & Hectare: 40 hl/ ha
Training System: The vineyard is held up by Guyot double (Bordeaux style) to obtain the best maturity and also to avoid phytosanitary disease. The wine is held up by wires.
Vinification: In Oak barrels (30% new)
Analytical Data: 12.5% alc/ vol
Ageing: In the same barrels used for the fermentation. On fine lees during 8 to 9 months depending on vintage and decided according to the tasting.
Tasting Notes: An elegant dry Côtes de Bordeaux Saint Macaire. Perfumed nose, with exotic fruits (mango, pineapple, and peach), vanilla, soft spices and small delicate buttery notes. The mouth combines richness and freshness. An elegant finale!
